MOSCOW, May 7 (Itar-Tass) — President Vladimir Putin signed his first Decree as president on “Lump-sum payment to some segments of Russian citizens on the occasion of the 67th Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 1941-1945”.
The Kremlin press service reports that under the Decree, a lump-sum payment of 5,000 roubles will be received in May-June 2012 by invalids of the Great Patriotic War, World War II veterans, former minor inmates of concentration camps, widows (widowers) of servicemen that died in the war with Finland, the Great Patriotic War and the war with Japan, widows (widowers) of diseased invalids of the Great Patriotic War and participants in the Great Patriotic War; former adult inmates of Nazi concentration camps, jails and ghettos will receive 1,000 roubles.
Earlier in the day, Dmitry Medvedev signed the last documents as the head of state: in the sphere of civil society, protection of human rights and modernization. He approved the list of instructions by the results of the meeting with the Council under the Russian president on Civil Society and Human Rights, which was held on April 28.
Medvedev also approved with his decree “Presidential programme for raising skills of engineers for 2012-2014” for modernization and technological development of the Russian economy.
The development of civil society, modernization of all spheres of life and the reform of law enforcement and political systems were the main priorities in Medvedev’s work as Russian president.
The first document he signed after entering the presidential office four years ago was a decree on providing housing for veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Medvedev signed his second decree on “Measures on developing housing construction” and the third – “Federal universities”.
