ST. PETERSBURG, January 21. /TASS/. The Russian Navy is working on developing ‘drone’ boats that can be based on ships and on the coast, Navy Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Vice-Admiral Alexander Fedotenkov said on Thursday.
"Work will be continued in 2016 to develop unmanned boats that can be based both on ships and on the shore," he said.
The Russian Navy also continues its work on developing self-guided deep-water search vessels. Work is underway as well to develop tethered underwater robots capable of carrying out complex operations at big depths, Fedotenkov said.
