BEIJING, August 27 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian-Chinese trade volume this year is expected “to reach no less than $88.1 billion” despite the reduction of bilateral trade in the first half of the year, Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
“This year will be no worse than the previous. The trade will be developing due to broader commodity composition and implementation of major strategic projects. Cooperation in oil and gas industries should be primarily noted among these projects. The intensification of cooperation between the two countries at regional level can also play a large role,” Cheng Guoping stated.
“The growth of Russian-Chinese trade to $100 billion by 2015 is a quite accomplishable task,” he added.
The Russian-Chinese trade has made $43.18 billion in the first half of this year with a 2.1% year-to-year reduction. Over this fact several Chinese experts doubted that this figure can be kept up at the level of 2012 of $88.1 billion.
