“The program provides for the construction of about 3,300 airplanes, including 1,500 civil aircraft, primarily Sukhoi Superjet-100 and MS-21 planes, that will be sold both domestically and on global markets,” Sergey Fominykh, a deputy director of the ministry’s department of aircraft-building said Tuesday. “In the period till 2025, it is planned to build 5,600 helicopters, including 2,300 civil rotorcraft.”Financing under the program is planned from both budgetary sources and from defense-sector enterprises. According to the official, Government financing till 2015 is planned at $14.7 billion. Defense sector companies are to invest about $6.3 billion of off-budget funds.
New projects include the organization of the production of Ilyushin-114 turboprop planes in Russia. Before 2012, such planes were manufactured in Uzbekistan. The project will reportedly require about $3 billion.
