MOSCOW, December 30. /TASS/ Volkswagen Group Rus recalls 2,166 Caddy mini-vans, sold in Russia in 2014-2015, due to an assembly defect, the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology reported on Wednesday.
"The vehicles which are subject to recall the wire of the vehicle network is not fixed properly. In the worst case, when you press the remote control it may lead to a spontaneous engine start," - the report said.
The vehicle with a manual transmission can be set in motion, which in its turn can lead to an emergency situation, the regulator warned.
As part of the recall-campaign the vehicles will be checked and, if necessary an additional fixing of the wire will be conducted. All repairs will be performed free of charge for owners of the vehicles.
