MOSCOW, December 31. /TASS/. Gazprom will continue uninterrupted supplies of Russian natural gas to Bulgaria amounting to 3 bln cubic meters, Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
"In view of reports that appeared in Bulgarian mass media that Bulgaria’s Overgas did not receive notices on continuation of natural gas supplies by Russian Gazprom Export to Bulgaria, we would like to note that according to information from Russia’s Gazprom management, supplies of Russian natural gas to Bulgaria continue seamlessly to state-owned Bulgargas in the amount of 3 bln cubic meters in line with annual demands of the country," the Foreign Ministry said. "These may be increased later on. Negotiations in terms of settling commercial issues accumulated in recent years continue with Overgas, cooperation with which provided not more than 10% of the annual gas consumption until now," the ministry said.
"Bulgaria will not be left without Russian natural gas," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
It was reported earlier Gazprom Export had no plans to deliver gas to its Bulgarian partner Overgas from January 1, chief executive of the Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD said in an interview with the Bulgarian national television. Management of Overgas denied such news earlier on Thursday. "Overgas is performing all obligations in respect of contracted parties and has no overdue debts to Gazprom Export," the Bulgarian company said.
As of 15:45 Moscow time comments on the situation from Gazprom Export were not available.
