MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. Chief Executive Officer of Gazprom Alexey Miller and the Ambassador of Syria to Russia Riad Haddad discussed prospects of cooperation after settlement of the military conflict in Syria at a working meeting, the Russian gas holding said on Thursday.
"The parties discussed the current status of Syria’s oil and gas sector and exchanged opinions about prospects for bilateral cooperation after the end of hostilities and normalization of political situation in the country," Gazprom said.
Russia started delivering pinpoint strikes on positions of the ISIL terrorist group prohibited in Russia at the request of Syria’s President Bashar Assad since September 30, 2015.
According to BP’s report for 2014, oil and gas reserves in Syria amount to 0.3 bln tonnes and 0.3 trillion cubic meters respectively.
