VLADIVOSTOK, February 14. /TASS/. The annual inflation in Russia may make 7-7.5% this year, Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev said in an interview with the NTV television channel on Sunday.
"It is high, very high, but only recently it was catastrophically high," he said, calling inflation a problem "which is not easy to cope, but we shall manage."
"The situation is more complicated with the economic growth, as it requires more time and efforts to recover, and still I hope this year we shall return to that trend," the minister said.
Russia’s statistic’s authority, Rosstat, said between February 2 and 8 this year the inflation made 0.2%, and from beginning of the year the rate went up to 1.2% already. The weekly inflation remains at 0.2% for the fourth week running.
The Central Bank said inflation in February would go down to 8.3-8.7% against the previous year.
