MOSCOW, May 06. /ITAR-TASS/. Rocket Soyuz-2.1a with a military satellite was launched from the Russian northern spaceport Plesetsk, Defense Ministry’s spokesman for Aerospace Defense Troops Colonel Alexei Zolotukhin told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.
“A medium-class rocket Soyuz-2.1a with a satellite in interests of the Defense Ministry was launched at 5.49pm Moscow time (1.49pm GMT) on Tuesday, May 6, from launching pad #4 at blast-off site #43 of spaceport Plesetsk by a combat unit of Russian Aerospace Defense Troops,” he said.
“The rocket was launched as scheduled,” the military spokesman said, noting that the launch was made under command of Commander of Aerospace Defense Troops Lieutenant General Alexander Golovko.
