MOSCOW, January 9. /TASS/. Moscow has condemned an attack on foreign tourists in a hotel in Egypt’s resort of Hurghada.
On Friday, two men, armed with knives, attacked foreign tourists at the Bella Vista hotel.
"They stabbed two Austrian nationals and one Swedish, according to received information," the foreign ministry said. "All the injured have been hospitalised. The Egyptian police said that one assailant was shot dead during a police operation and the other was detained."
"As is known, there are not any ‘organised’ Russian tourists in Egypt at the moment," it said.
"Moscow condemns a criminal attack at the hotel in Hurghada and resolutely supports the steps of the Egyptian government and the country’s law enforcement agencies to fend off extremists of all stripes," the foreign ministry said.
