MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. A lawyer for Ruslan Muhudinov, a suspected organizer of Russian politician Boris Nemtsov’s murder, has not confirmed reports that his client is declared wanted by global crime-fighter Interpol.
"I have no information that Interpol is searching for Muhudinov and that such a request has been ever sent there," lawyer Havat Hadisov told TASS.
Russian investigators say Muhudinov, an officer of Chechnya’s Sever battalion, is the organizer of the murder. A spokesman for Russia’s Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin said last month Muhudinov has been on the international wanted list since November 2015. A criminal case against him and other unidentified persons will be considered separately, he said.
Nemtsov, former deputy prime minister under then-President Boris Yeltsin, and co-chairman of the Parnas party and deputy of the Yaroslavl regional duma, was killed in downtown Moscow late on February 27, 2015.
Preliminary investigation into the killing has been completed. Five men, including suspected perpetrator Zaur Dadayev, have been formally charged in the Nemtsov murder case. They do not admit their guilt.
