WASHINGTON, June 2. /TASS/. A 5.1-magnitude earthquake has struck the western coast of Mexico, US Geological Survey said on Thursday.
The epicenter of the earthquake lay in 195 kilometers to the south-west of the city of Cihuatlan in the state of Jalisco at the depth of 34 kilometers.
No injuries or damages have been reported so far.
The Hong Kong Observatory earlier reported a 6.8-magnitude earthquake. However, according to US Geological Survey and European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the magnitude of tremors stood at 5.1.
