MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Russia’s ministry of sports will look at holding World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in Russia in 2019 or 2020, Minister Vitaly Mutko told TASS on Sunday.
Earlier, President of the Russian Union of Speed Skaters Alexei Kravtsov came out with an initiative to apply for hosting these sports events in Russia.
"We have not yet discussed it. But what Kolomna [the venue of the 2016 World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships] has demonstrated - perfect organization, high attendance - is good. Kolomna can host competitions of any level. Apart from that, we have Moscow and Chelyabinsk. We will look at all options and possibilities," Mutko said.
The World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in Kolomna finished on February 14.
