KIEV, May 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Unidentified assailants attacked and burnt down the house of Oleh Tsariov, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and former presidential candidate, overnight on Wednesday in the eastern city of Dnipropetrovsk.

“My house in Dnipropetrovsk was burnt down at night,” Tsariov wrote on his Facebook page. “Two buses with armed people arrived at 2.00 am and showered the house with Molotov cocktails. The assailants acted confidently. They were filming the arson, probably to report later on their job."

“My wife and children left Dnipropetrovsk some time ago, and my mother did the same last week, and that is why no one was injured,” Tsariov added.

Later on Wednesday, Tsariov confirmed in an interview with ITAR-TASS that his house was attacked.

“Yes, the house was burnt down,” he told ITAR-TASS. “No one was injured in the fire. We called the police.”

Tsariov was registered to run in Ukraine’s snap presidential election, slated for May 25, but withdrew his candidacy from the race in late April citing his protest to the current authorities’ policies in the southeastern regions of the country.
