SUKHUM, May 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Abkhazia’s Prime Minister Leonid Lakerbaya told reporters he does not exclude the possibility that the government could step down to appease the opposition.
“It is not a sacrifice as Abkhazia’s welfare is of top priority,” Lakerbaya said.
Meanwhile, visiting Russian Presidential Aide Vladislav Surkov, incumbent authorities of the South Caucasian Republic of Abkhazia and the opposition agreed to start talks on Thursday.
Secretary of the Security Council Nugzar Ashuba will participate in talks from state authorities, chairman of veteran public movement Aruaa and member of the republican coordination council of political parties and public organizations Vitaly Gabnia will represent the opposition.
