KIEV, June 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s parliament-appointed president and speaker of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) Oleksandr Turchynov has ordered the country’s National Security and Defense Council to look at imposing a martial law in southeastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions, according to a decree posted on Turchinov’s website on Tuesday.
Earlier, on May 29, deputy parliament speaker Rusal Koshulinsky said that the Verkhovna Rada would not consider imposing an emergency rule or a martial law in any of the country’s regions “until there is a legitimate president in the country."
