MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces shelled the settlements of Trudovskiye and Alexandrovka on the western outskirts of Donetsk and northern parts of the city, a source in security agencies of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Friday.
"Ukrainian forces opened fire at settlements of Trudovskiye and Alexandrovka in Donetsk’s Petrovsky district. They also shelled the Volvo Center and the village of Zhabichevo in the northern part of the city," Donetsk News Agency quoted the source as saying.
The source said Kiev forces used mortars, infantry fighting vehicles and small arms. They shelled the northern part of Donetsk from their positions in Peski. Several residential houses were hit in the western part of the city, information about injuries and damages is being verified.
DPR defense ministry said on Thursday that 14 violations of ceasefire by Ukrainian forces were registered over the last 24 hours.
At the meeting of the Contact Group on January 13 the sides supported the initiative of Russia’s envoy Boris Gryzlov on ensuring complete ceasefire on the territory of Donbass. This is the seventh attempt to fully observe the ceasefire regime in Ukraine’s south-east. At the recent meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk the participants expressed regret over continuing violations of ceasefire regime in Donbass.
The self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk republics said that Ukrainian forces violated ceasefire regime 120 times and shelled DPR and LPR territory more than 320 times since December 23 last year.
