EL-ISAVIYA (Syria), March 7. /TASS/. About five tons of Russian-Syrian humanitarian aid were delivered to the Turkoman village of El-Isaviya located 20 km away from the border with Turkey and a field medical unit was deployed there.
"I appreciate help provided to us by the Russian Federation… We always lived calmly and quietly, in good neighboring relations with all nations around us. All of us are Turkomans but we are people of Syria and want to continue living in peace and accord," head of administration of El-Isaviya Mustafa Kafi told reporters.
Turkomans feel sorrow for death of the Russian pilot and look forward to Russia’s help in maintaining peace, he added.
The Turkish Air Force’s F-16 fighter on November 24, 2015 shot down a Russian Sukhoi Su-24M bomber, involved in Russia's antiterrorism operation in Syria. The Su-24M crew ejected but one of the two pilots was killed by fire from the ground. The second pilot was rescued as a result of a 12-hour operation. During evacuation of the Su-24M crew, a Mi-8 helicopter was lost and a contract marine was killed. The incident occurred in the area where Syrian Turkomans are living.
